Investigative reporting may be one of the most
interesting and exciting aspects of journalism.
Although it has a somewhat glamorous image,
investigative reporting often functions as an important
service to society. Reporters often uncover secrets
like government corruption or abuses in the workplace.
The most famous examples of investigative reporters
might be Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein, who worked for
the Washington Post while uncovering the Watergate
scandal. However, reporters have to balance informing
readers and viewers with overstepping ethical
boundaries. This site is intended to be an overview of
investigative reporting with resources for further
research. |
