Hamas win a road block to peace?
--When
President Bush laid out his "Roadmap to Peace" in 2003, the idea of
a workable solution between the Palestinians and the Israelis seemed
ambitious, but realistic. However, in the last two years, Bush's
guidelines to peace have steadily fallen apart. The tumultuous
politics of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict have made it nearly
impossible to reach any meaningful solutions. Now, with the
self-proclaimed Palestinian terrorist group Hamas winning big in
parliamentary elections, the United States and other international
observers are concerned about backward progress in the region. Will
the Israelis and Palestinians ever solve their stark political,
religious and geographical differences?
Read on to see what the
future may hold for the unstable region.
