Quality time with Professor Rob Koch

DR - Where are you originally from?                                         RK - New York. The Bronx.

DR - What's your favorite high school memory?                      RK - Working on a lot of shows in theatre. I was the stage manager for a play that was nominated for an award for the best play in New York.

DR - Wow, impressive. Doing big things at an early age. Where'd you go to college?                                                                    RK - Nathaniel Hawthorne College in Antrim, NH. It's only about 40 minutes from here. Back when it was first opened it was rivals with Franklin Pierce. Both colleges started at the same time. I got my masters from Leslie and am currently working on my doctorate from there.

DR - Ok then Dr. Koch, what's your favorite hobby?                RK - I love theatre. I do a lot of work in Peterborough and am currently directing a play, "Once Upon a Mattress", that will be on stage in late March.

DR - Where's that going to be?                                                RK - The Monadnock Country Club in Peterborough.

DR - What are some of your other acting highlights?                      RK - I was nominated for best supporting actor for a drama in "Mr. Pim Passes By." I also had the chance to work with James Whitemore and his son in "Inherit the Wind". It was the best play in New Hampshire last year.

DR - Who's James Whitemore?                                                RK - You would probably know him as the librarian from Shawshank Redemption. He has played numerous roles in movies. His son is currently doing a lot of work with television shows and other series.

DR - Any other hobbies?                                                          RK - I'm and artist and I like to fly fish.

DR - Do you have any kids?                                                      RK - One son.

DR - Does he do anything that annoys you?                              RK - Not at all. If anything I annoy him.

DR - Would you rather win Superbowl MVP or World Series MVP?                                                                                      RK - World Series MVP. I played baseball and softball a lot. I'm a big Yankees fan.

DR - How many games will the Yanks win this year?                     RK - 104.

DR - Wow, that's bold. What about the Red Sox?                    RK - The who? I think they will win about 85.

DR - Where's the most interesting place you have ever been?     RK - I lived in Weisuaden, Germany while I was in the Air Force. My son lives in Sun Valley, Idaho, which is pretty interesting.

DR - Who's your favorite character on Gilligan's Island?            RK - The Skipper. I'm big. He's big. If they ever had a remake of the show I would get the part.

DR - Mary Ann or Ginger?                                                       RK - Mary Ann. Ginger wore too much makeup. I like the wholesome type.

DR - If you had one year to do anything you wanted what would it be?                                                                                           RK - I would like to flyfish around the world. I would also like to work for a Broadway show.

DR - Name an athlete that would make a good President.             RK - Mike Ditka. I think a president should be tough, smart, defensive minded, and have a good personality. Yogi Berra would be a good choice too.

DR - Wouldn't Yogi be a bit confusing?                                     RK - Well, he never really said everything he said.

DR - What President would make a good athlete?                     RK - Well of course there were some that were athletes. I think George Bush Sr. would have made a good baseball player.
