I saw 2 movies this
weekend. I saw "Date Movie" last Saturday which was dry, low class humor
at its best. And then I also saw Final Destination 3. "Final
Destination" was a gore fest at its best with some humor thrown in on
the side.
In "F.D.3," director James Wong and co-writer Glen Morgan (makers of "F.D.1") continue their cycle of thematically related horror flicks, each with the same general plot: You can't cheat death. They still cheat audiences out of surprises however.
The entertainment value
seems to lie in the insanely complicated slaughters that we see the
characters go through. Through all of the slaughters the humor keeps
building, especially when one teen gets smashed by a cherry picker still
managing to flip the bird as he dies.
"Date Movie" was nothing but humor. The movie starts
out with numerous laughs, but towards the end the laughs are too far
apart and few in between. What keeps it together is all of the special
appearances including Carmen Electra, Eddie Griffin and Fred Willard.
If you want a movie with laughs and entertainment see
"Final Destination 3." If you want a movie featuring 2 out of 6 of the
"Scary Movie Trilogy" or a movie to go see on a date with the lady, see
"Date Movie."
