New TV show to air on FPC TV 25: Diamonds in the Rough

by Robert Centore
Exchange Staff Writer

FPC TV 25 is set to add a new sports show this spring to its ever growing popular television lineup.

The new show titled Diamonds in the Rough will be hosted by senior Andrew Van Ness.  While the cast is still in the works, Van Ness will be joined by fellow analysts Tony Catinella and Scott Farr.  The show will be a baseball-themed show that will provide highlights and recaps of the previous weeks games, as well as who were the key performers of the week.

Van Ness said, "In the final segment, we go over who's hot and who's not in terms of individual players, which I think will be exciting."

Along with the highlights and who's hot and not segments, Diamonds in the Rough will cover updates concerning managers getting hired and fired, player injuries, and teams who are on winning and losing streaks.

The show will air upon return from spring break, approximately April 2nd, when the official baseball season starts.

Joe Fagella, executive producer of sports said, "We've tried a baseball show in the past, but even though it didn't work out the first time, I am confident that with proper planning it will work this time around."

FPC TV 25 has received great reviews from the campus audience for shows such as The Boot, 3 Guys, 3 Cups and a Coffee Table, Newscast, Chowda, Off the Glass and the ever popular Roommates.  With the addition of Diamonds in the Rough, FPC TV 25 will host a wide range of programs that will hopefully appeal to the whole campus audience.

Freshman Dan Seavey said, "I was surprised on how many different shows we had here, and I happy that there is going to be a new baseball show."

While the show is currently in the making, Fagella said, "As of right now, I believe the show is going to consist of three guys, but I might have to switch it around after a few episodes if I feel that it will work better with a team of two instead."  Should the format change then Catinella and Farr will rotate every other week to accompany Van Ness.
