Southpark takes on Family Guy

by Sean Meehan

Respectively, I love both Southpark and Family Guy as two of the funniest entertaining shows on television. Granted Family Guy isn't the most original show out there, however with recent episodes of The Simpsons failing I have found it to be a good alternative.
We all saw the episode of The Simpson’s where they called out Family Guy as being plagiarized. So this should be nothing new to Seth McFarlane.
Southpark is an original satirical show using sketch comedy where no one is safe from Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s left handed jabs and right handed hooks.
In last nights episode which continues into next week Cartman goes to Hollywood to have to the producers of the hit Fox show Family Guy take it off the air. Apparently they are not happy that the Prophet Mohammad will be used on their show. I love Southpark.
Suffice to say that if Matt Stone and Trey Parker are talking about 'Family Guy', it's not gonna be real flattering. They've been pretty open about their disdain for the show and Seth McFarland.
This quote is from Wikipedia: "When questioned about the meanest thing anyone ever said to them, Stone replied 'When people say to me, God, you guys have one of the best shows on television. Those shows are Southpark and Family Guy. That hurts so bad', to which Parker agreed: 'Very well said. It's such a kick in the balls.' "
They like to think of themselves as an original comedy show with original characters, not composites of various previous characters. We all know Stewie is funny, but he isn't the first football head shaped baby there ever was.
Maybe Seth McFarland will have to go back to the drawing board. I'm not really feeling his other show either, whatever it is called.
