Pay up or you’re out

The Office of Student Financial Services once Student Accounts and Financial Aid have combined with a new mission to provide FPC students with counseling and financing options to pay for their education.

What many students don't know however is that there are consequences for not being financially clear.  This year SFS has added a $300 late payment fee for students who were not financially cleared for fall semester by the deadline; that however is not the only consequence.  Kenneth Ferreira, Executive Director of Student Financial Services said, "Student accounts that are not clear by September 8th will be compiled on a recommended administrative withdrawal list."  All students who have not established payment for their fall tuition by the Friday after classes begin will be put on a list to be withdrawn from school, the process will begin on September 11th and 12th

This doesn't mean that if you are a student waiting for your pending financial aid that you'll be packing your bags on September 11th.  This policy is in place for students who come to campus without financial clearance, and with no way of covering their remaining balance in mind.  Ferraira said, "The SFS office works with students on recommended financing options to help students clear their balance, students who have absolutely no way of financing are recommended for administrative withdrawal before they accrue charges for the semester."
