Iran continues with its uranium  program- Iranian and European ambassadors spent two days last week in Berlin trying to negotiate Iran's nuclear program.
The talks ended with no resolution as Iran's President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, rejected demands to stop uranium enrichment programs in Tehran.  This command also comes from the U.N. Security Council.  The U.N. originally said that Iran must cease its nuclear development program by August 31st.
The U.S. along with other countries believes that Iran is using the uranium enrichment to build atomic bombs, which Iran agues against.

School shooting in Colorado-Police are investigating a school shooting in Bailey, Colorado at Platte Canyon High School.  A student, 16-year-old Emily Keyes and another female student were being held hostage by 53-year-old gunman, Duane Morrison.
Morrison had taken several other students hostage but released them during the standoff.  The SWAT team came into the classroom after hearing the female hostages scream.
The gunman had sexually assaulted the two girls while he was holding them in the classroom.  While being held hostage Keyes sent a text message to her family saying "I love u guys."
Morrison was using Keyes as a human shield before he shot her, then shot himself.
