Nicole McKinnon "It's really nice that Wal-Mart and local restaurants donated the prizes for the competition so our committee didn't have to use any of the money we raised. All the profits will go to the Make-A-Wish foundation," said SAAC President Neil Cacciola. To find competitors, six of the SAAC members are assigned a dorm or residency where they will go around and ask students if they would like to participate in the competition. Members will be going around the residencies this week. A number of spots will be available for students who wish to walk into the competition the night of Up All Night. "I'm really excited for this event. I think a lot of students will have fun and the Make-A-Wish foundation will benefit as well," said SAAC Vice President Kayleigh Jaksina. A bracket will be set up with all the competitors. A competitor will be randomly paired up with another competitor. The pair will play Rock, Paper, Scissors three times. The competitor that wins two out of the three times will be the winner. The winner will then go against another winner. "Winners will continue to go against other winners until there are no winners left. Although there will be only one true champion, in the end we will be giving prizes to more than one winner," said Cacciola. Competitors will be required to face
back-to-back to make sure no cheating will take place. "The SAAC members
will walk around to make sure students leave when they have lost so the
competition is fair for everyone," said Jaksina. The bracket will be set up
on a projection screen for all competitors and spectators to view. Students
interested in participating in the competition can contact an SAAC member or
faculty advisor Sharon Bonaventure in the Athletic Department Office in
Edgewood. |
