Phone-a-thon is in full swing

The Franklin Pierce phone-a-thon is hoping to raise $200,000 this year for the Franklin Pierce Annual Fund which benefits scholarships and helps cover the expenses that tuition does not.

The phone-a-thon is a program in which students call alumni and the parents of current students to ask for donations, which benefit the college. So far this year, the Annual Fund is halfway to its goal. Even though they are looking to receive $200,000, the reality is they will receive about $150,000 in donations and gifts.

While asking for donations can be tedious work, students also have the opportunity to network with alumni just by making conversation. "The number we try to reach is around 10,000 and that is alumni, GPS and parents of current and graduated students,” said Susan Jones, assistant director of annual funds.

The phone-a-thon is coming to an end in the next week and will not start again until next October. If interested in participating, contact Susan Jones at extension 1134.
