Senior week Events

Senior week is approaching for the class of 2007, and as some seniors mourn the upcoming weeks, others are looking forward to the events that are being held from May 7-11 before commencement on May 12.

One of the most popular events is the annual senior trip which will be a cruise this year on May 9. Tickets are on sale now until Friday but there is only a limited amount of tickets left. The tickets are $10 and available for purchase either at the Lakeview shuttle stop or from senior class president, Sarah Estis.

"I am really looking forward to going on this cruise with everybody,” said Senior Bryan Coady. "It's great to have a trip like this for the seniors, for all the hard work we have put in over the past four years."

Buses for the cruise will depart that Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. to Portsmouth, NH where the cruise will depart for three hours. Dancing, dinner and a cash bar will be available for the attendees along with other prizes that will be given away throughout the night. The buses will transport the students back to campus around 1 a.m.

Even though the trip is supposed to be for Seniors, the tickets are being sold to any student who is over twenty-one which could lead to some Seniors not being able to attend who want to go.
"I don't really see the big deal (about students who are not seniors) going on the cruise because some people have boyfriends or girlfriends or other friends that want to go and if the seniors do not get their money in fast then it's their loss," said Senior Joe Luginsland.

The cruise is the only event during senior week that requires an admission fee, where as the upcoming annual barbeque held at Lakeview and the other events will be free of charge.
