This year's show will be held in Pierce Hall, which will accommodate far more students than the previous shows in the Northwoods Community room. Along with The Misfits, The Crimson Ghost will also be paying homage to Slayer, and the late G.G. Allin. "We're psyched for the new venue," said guitarist James Averyt. "With more room for everyone it will be more of a show." The Crimson Ghost has added more songs to their set list, and made adjustments to their lineup. To replace the now graduated Alex Benson, bassist Ian Stuart has switched to drums. "It's kinda weird sitting down the whole time," said Ian. "I'm used to moving around and going crazy." Filling the gap on bass is sophomore Jeff Silva. "I got lucky I guess," said Silva. "I thought last year's show was awesome, and now I get to be a part of it." "There were lots of people who could have taken the spot, but Jeff knew the songs already. He came to rehearsal and just started playing," said singer Harlan Butt, who has been organizing the show each year, and has quit smoking to improve his performance. After this year three of the four members of The Crimson Ghost will have graduated leaving only Jeff Silva to carry on the Halloween tradition. "It gives us a chance to play live, and it gives students on campus something to do," said Butt. Also on the bill is Boston
hardcore act Seize Fate, whose influences include Hatebreed and As I lay
Dying. The show opens at 6pm on Saturday October 27th. |
