Athletes need to just shut up and play

Washington Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas recently blogged about how he thought the Boston Celtics are overrated and how the organization pretty much is awful to put it into appropriate terms.  He guaranteed a victory in the season opener in Boston and said that Celtics' fans would go home crying.  Hey Gilbert Arenas can you remind me what you have won?

MVP? Nope. Championship? Nope. Scoring Title? Nope. 1st Round Pick? Nope.  Exactly you haven't won anything yet, so therefore shut up and play the game.  Sure you have a nice story stemming from being a second round pick making it into an elite player, but that doesn't mean you can go off with your mouth on other teams.  The Celtics' will not only win this game, but will go further this season than you will probably ever go in your career.  It's one thing to say that you like your team better than the other, but to knock one of the most storied franchises of all-time is just stupid.

Your talking about a team that has added players who have a combined twenty-two years of all-star experience.  And your team in the off-season added who? . . . . . . . yeah I'm still thinking too.  You can score all the points and hit all the buzzer beaters you want, but at the end of the day the Boston Celtics will be looking down on your team, the Washington Wizards in the standings, which is all that matters.  Unless your little mascot does a little wand wiggle and adds a legit big man to your team, you'll be the one crying not C's fans.

Athletes talk way too much; they need to learn to just play the game.  I wish I had a chart of athletes and their predications to see what percentage missed.  I'm guessing it is lower than Shaq's free throw percentage and not much higher than Arenas' jersey number (0).  Arenas is just adding fuel to the fire in a situation where he is going to be the roast.  The last time I check no one was predicting a stunning Wizards turn around and had them in the finals.  Jealousy is a weak emotion and when Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Ray Allen walk off the TD Bank North Garden with their hands extended in the air, saluting the crowd, I can't wait to see your emotion.
