Pulp 105.3 WFPU-LP is planning on a 105 hour long broadcast to help promote the radio station.

The broadcast will be put on by the board members of the radio station.  Each of the board members will rotate shifts during the 105 hours of broadcasting.  During the broadcast, there will be raffles and contests as well as prizes given out.  Some of the prizes will include CDs and possibly free concert tickets.

Casey Bolduc is a senior and Music Director for the radio station.  "I'm working on getting concert tickets to give away as prizes," said Bolduc.

There are also plans to have campus bands come on the air and play during the broadcast.  "There will be daily themes so it will keep it interesting to give listeners the opportunity to listen to what they want to," said Bolduc.

The tentative plan for the broadcast is to have it held during the week so students can see the board members in the station while they broadcast.

Jon Goulet is the station manager of the radio.  "This is something we had been planning since last year, but we were unable to get the logistics of it all worked out," said Goulet.

Goulet became the station manager in September of this semester after previously holding the position of Program Director.  "This is something that listeners and the DJs can enjoy.

It also creates attention and buzz for the radio station," said Goulet.  "I applauded their initiative and I'm looking forward to it," said Dr. Kristen Nevious, the Director of the Fitzwater Center.

The broadcast was originally set to be held at the beginning of fall semester, but now the station plans to hold the broadcast at the beginning of spring semester.

"The students have worked very hard to make the Pulp part of the students' lives here and this will show that they've done it," said Dr. Nevious.  "The last big event was the Katrina event, where we raised a lot of money for relief, this event is along those lines.  They have been very ambitious with their efforts and they will pull it off," said Dr. Nevious.
