by Phil Enright It will also
help students learn about specific career fields, develop networking
contacts, help students set realistic career goals and help the alumnus
maintain a stronger connection to the University. The alumnus will be
available to offer advice to the student about entering their field of
choice, to help out in the writing of the student's resume, assist in
obtaining internships and to assist when it comes to job shadowing. PACE is
designed as an academic year experience that will encompass the fall and
spring semesters. The conversations will take place weekly or on a schedule that
is convenient for both the student and the mentor. During these weekly
conversations, the student will update the mentor with their progress during
the previous week. Topics could include grades, classes, extra curricular
activities, new additions to their resume, and anything else that is school
or career related. Part of the application process requires students to
submit a resume. |
