This week I interviewed Ryan Milligan. Ryan is a Criminal Justice major and strives to join the police force someday.

MR:  Why did you attend Franklin Pierce?

RM:  I chose to attend Franklin Pierce because of the size of the school and the reputation of the Criminal Justice program. The school did not have a lot of large classes and I wanted to attend an institution that I was more than just a number. Franklin Pierce offered me that and much more.

MR:  What has your experience been like at Franklin Pierce?

RM:  My experience over the four years that I have attended Franklin Pierce has been generally good. There have been times when I wanted to give up and transfer to another school. In the long run I am glad I stayed here because it is the perfect fit for the type of student I am.

MR:  How was your experience in Washington DC interning for the DEA?

RM:  My experience with the DEA in Washington, DC was the best of my life. I could not have asked for a better program than the Washington Center (this isn't a promo just the truth). I did basically everything that a real agent did such as drug raids, going to the firing range, and surveillance of different things. I also met a lot of contacts and friends that I will have for the rest of my life.

MR:  What are your plans for after graduation?

RM:  After graduation I hope to eventually become a police officer before furthering my career with the DEA at the federal level. I would like to go onto the force in Nashua, NH since it is close to where I live to gain the experience needed to work at the federal level.

MR:  Who is the biggest inspiration in your life?

RM:  I have two people that I can credit for inspiring me in my life: my father and my high school AAU basketball coach. My dad has been a police officer for almost thirty years and has worked his way through the ranks and is now a Chief of Police. He is the main reason I am going into law enforcement. My high school AAU coach never let us give up or take no for an answer. No matter who you were he pushed you and pushed you to strive for more, not only on the basketball court, but the classroom as well.

MR:  What advice would you give for underclassmen at Franklin Pierce major in criminal justice?

RM:  Some advice that I would give an underclassman at Franklin Pierce is work hard at the major. Even though other students who have majors may tell you Criminal Justice is very easy this is not true. You will need to work and apply yourself at all times. If you can take an internship because it will give you real life experience and show if you if really want to stay in the Criminal Justice field. It showed me I just wanted it that much more.

MR:  What is your favorite place to travel to?

RM:  My favorite type of travel would have to be a cruise. You can go anywhere you want to in the world and you are treated like royalty while you are on the boat. The locations you travel to are awesome, the boat is massive, and of course the food is superb. Who could not like that?

MR:  What are your favorite types of music or artists?

RM:  I like a mix of everything except for country. I like a lot of rap but my favorite artist for rap would probably be Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. I like all rock old and new. My favorite rock band is a very difficult question but it would probably be Green Day or Nickelback.
