PD: Where is your hometown?

MLS: I was born in Las Vegas, NV, but because my dad was in the Army we got the chance to move around quite a bit.  I'm what you call an Army brat.  However, for the past 9 years we've lived in Arlington, MA right outside of Boston.

PD: What made you decide Franklin Pierce University?

MLS: I was offered a great scholarship so that played a lot on my decision.  I was also very intrigued by the Mass. Comm. department here, and I really enjoyed the campus setting.

PD: What's your major?

MLS: I'm majoring in Mass. Comm. with a concentration in Media Studies and a minor in Advertising.

PD: You're graduating this spring, what are your plans after graduation?

MLS: I am really interested in getting a Public Relations job at a firm in or around the Boston area.  After I gain some experience with that I am then in hopes to move out to California where I can also pursue a job in Public Relations.

PD: What do you consider to be your greatest accomplishments over the past four years here at Franklin Pierce?

MLS: I have worked really hard at concentrating mainly on my studies, so I would have to say that my greatest accomplishment would be making the Dean's & Dean's Honors list every semester.  I am also grateful for the people that I have met over the past four years and the great networks that I had to the chance to set up.

PD: If you had the chance to personally thank one of your professors who would it be & why?

MLS: I find this a hard question, because there has definitely been more than one professor that has helped me out in one way or another over the past four years. However, I would like to thank Professor Les Kozaczek, Jay Hill, and Bill Costa.  These professors have all taken the time at one point or another to help me whether it was inside the classroom or matters that I had to deal with outside.

PD: What activities do you/have you taken part in here on campus?

MLS: I play goalie #1 for the Franklin Pierce Women's lacrosse team.  I also helped put together the Franklin Pierce Women's Rugby team.  Outside of school, I work at Lilly's on the Pond as a part time job.

PD: What is your favorite quote or motto that you like to follow?

MLS: Live everyday like it's your last, because tomorrow is never promised.  Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer.

PD: If you could trade places with anyone in the world who would it be and why?

MLS: This is a really hard question, and I find it really hard to narrow it down to just one person.  I would however, like to trade places with someone that lives in a poverty stricken country to see what a day in their shoes is like.  I feel like an experience like that would make me appreciate life so much more.

PD: What advice do you have for the graduating class of 2008?

MLS: Don't be close minded, because some people will surprise you.  Always trust your first instinct because it's usually the best decision that you will ever make.
