Getting political with Eric Jackman

Besides attending the Democratic National Convention, acting as Vice President of Pierce Democrats, co-hosting his own political TV show and interviewing politicians, senior Eric Jackman also is concerned about 9/11 first responders and their families.
Caring deeply for the victims and survivors of 9/11, Jackman attended a rally and fundraiser for 9/11 first responders and their families in NYC on September 12. According to Jackman thousands of dollars were raised at the event. The money goes to first responders who are "sick, dying, and in dire need of money to get healthcare, among other needs," Jackman said.
Jackman is currently planning a Third Party Rally that he hopes will be held on campus. He has asked Green Party Candidate for President and Former Georgia Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney to attend the event and talk about her campaign and the importance of third parties in the presidential elections and debates.
Freshman Tanner Acebo and Jackman are also working together to get Presidential Candidate Ralph Nader to come speak to the Franklin Pierce community about his campaign for presidency.
Jackman co-hosts a political show on FP-TV25 with his best friend senior Justin Martell called the "Dynamic Duo." They film Monday nights at the Fitzwater TV Studio at 5:30 p.m.
Jackman also attended the Democratic National Convention, in August, with five other Franklin Pierce students. He and the five other students interviewed politicians and other people and also covered the event itself. Jackman was able to interview politicians such as Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick, Vermont Senator Patrick Leahy, Iowa Governor Chet Culver, Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell, Democracy Now! host Amy Goodman, and Nevada Senate Majority leader Harry Reid.
Another interesting person that Jackman interviewed at the Democratic National Convention was "Congressional Candidate and Anti-war activist peace mom Cindy Sheehan," Jackman said. Sheehan is known nationally for camping out near George Bush's Texas ranch as a protest against the Iraq war that claimed her son Casey's life.
Jackman grew up in
Massachusetts and moved to New Hampshire when he was ten years old. His
interest in politics arose because "being in New Hampshire you have great
access to political candidates," Jackman said.
