With the program on campus called Winterim II, Franklin Pierce students will have the opportunity to stay in Vienna for ten days and nights in January of 2009.

The program is in its second year and will be sending a group of 15 students overseas to experience what it would be like to study abroad. The group will be staying on the campus in Vienna and a hotel in Prague, where they will be doing such things as touring castles, sightseeing, visiting museums, watching performances, and exploring Europe's history.

Thelma D'Alessio, facilities office manager, is one of the group leaders, and a life long traveler herself, said, "We're hoping to get students interested in the study abroad programs." According to D'Alessio, "[Last year] we had a guide who was a professor at a university in Milan, who dealt with students on a daily basis, tell us that he had never seen such well behaved students as the ones from Franklin Pierce."

Mike Patinsky, from campus safety who will be one of the group leaders, said, "I'm looking forward to exploring Vienna and Prague with the students here."

The fee to go is around $2,500 without travel insurance. Each student can only bring one suitcase and one carry on. Spaces are also limited for the program.
