University Employee Benefits
Franklin Pierce University benefit year runs from January 1 to December 31, 2018. Open Enrollment for all eligible employees will be in October and November.
The benefit package offers flexible options to eligible faculty and staff. Coverage applies to eligible employees and for their spouse/domestic partner and dependent children.
A full-time employee becomes eligible for benefits on the first (1st) of the month following thirty (30) days of employment. Once eligible, all election forms and paperwork must be submitted to Human Resources in a timely fashion. If paperwork is not submitted on time, employees risk forfeiting the benefit option until the next open enrollment period.
IRS regulations stipulate that current employees can't elect to change or join Franklin Pierce University's health, dental, vision or flexible spending during the calendar year, other than during the open enrollment period. Please contact Human Resources if there is a qualifying event that will allow changes to current benefits. A qualifying event includes marriage, birth/adoption of a child, loss or change in coverage, and divorce.

For employees who participate in the qualified High Deductible Health Plan, Franklin Pierce University offers an IRS tax-sheltered account provided by Discovery Benefits.

The University provides Group Term Life insurance for eligible employees through Mutual of Omaha. For more information - Group Term Life
Short Term Disability -
A non-contributory short-term disability plan administered by Mutual of Omaha that indemnifying monthly income at 100% with a 7 day waiting period for either accident or illness payable for up to 6 months. Refer to the policy for further information.
Long Term Disability -
A non-contributory long-term disability plan administered by Mutual of Omaha that indemnifying monthly income at 60% to a monthly maximum of $10,000 with a 6-month waiting period for either accident or illness payable through age 70. Refer to the policy for further information.
For eligible employees, Franklin Pierce University offers a defined contribution plan that operates under Section 403(b) of the Internal Revenue Code. Employees may also participate in a tax-deferred annuity plan. For further information - retirement plan

My Lockton (MYLO) -
Service offered to all Franklin Pierce employees that provides alternative for COBRA, as well as assist part-time employees with the Affordable Care Act. This service is very helpful with regard to Medicare and questions that employees may have. MYLO
