Part-Time Faculty - Various for Spring 2017

Location: Rindge, NH

 

Franklin Pierce University is looking for part-time instructors to teach the following courses (or combination of courses) during the 2016-2017 academic year at the Rindge campus.

 

Algebra & Trigonometry - responsible for preparation and instruction in “Algebra & Trigonometry I”, a modeling approach with emphasis placed on the understanding of mathematical concepts

Art History – provide instruction for Foundations of Art course – reviewing the major forms of art – architecture, sculpture, painting and graphic arts and crafts.

Biology I and II Lab – responsible for leading a laboratory section for students enrolled in General Biology I, a course that covers basic biological principles for majors and non-majors. 

Chemistry I and II Lab – responsible for teaching the fundamental principles of chemistry with laboratory section.

Criminal Justice – provide an overview of the various facets of the criminal justice system.

English Composition – responsible for instruction in the first-year composition sequence emphasizing development of college-level writing skills.

Environmental Science - responsible for leading an introductory laboratory section for students enrolled in Introduction to Ecosystems and Wildlife  Conservation; laboratory topics include scientific method, plant and animal identification, aquatic macro invertebrate bio-indicators, forest biodiversity and global wildlife conservation.

Fine Arts – provide instruction in the various media – glassblowing, photography, ceramics, drawing and painting.

Foundation of Art – provide instruction to students on the major forms of art – architecture, sculpture, painting, graphic arts and crafts.

Mathematics - provide instruction in algebra & trigonometry I and II, contemporary mathematics; a course promoting critical thinking skills and good reasoning processes through an introduction to mathematical concepts.

Mathematics Skills -  Responsible for instruction in a course intended for students requiring pre-college preparation in mathematics.

Organic Chemistry -  responsible for labs for biology and health sciences majors.

Psychology -  provide instruction in the application of the principles of learning, perception, cognition, motivation and social and developmental processes to human behavior.

Statistics - responsible for instruction in college-level statistics course serving science, business and other students and having a focus on hypothesis testing.

Technical Theater – provide instruction on the fundamentals of technical theater including scene construction and handling of tools, safety, properties, lighting installation, and sound.

 

All candidates must have a minimum of a Masters degree and previous teaching and/or lab experience preferred.
