Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs

Location: Rindge, NH


Franklin Pierce University, a small, private regionally accredited university, invites applications, nominations, and expressions of interest for the position of Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. Founded in 1962, the University has grown to one main residential undergraduate campus located at the College at Rindge, NH and four centers as the College of Graduate & Professional Studies located in Manchester, Lebanon, Portsmouth, NH, and Goodyear, AZ.


Franklin Pierce seeks a seasoned academic leader who will lead the institution in academic program development, who will provide vision, strategy, and planning for the academic community. Reporting to the President, the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs is the first among equals on a collaborative senior administrative team. As the University’s chief academic officer, the Provost provides leadership and administrative oversight to the College of Graduate and Professional Studies, the College at Rindge, as well as the University Registrar’s Office, the DiPietro Library, and the Center for Academic Excellence.


The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership qualities with a successful record of leading an engaged and dedicated faculty and staff. Demonstrating substantial and successful executive and fiscal management experience, candidates must be able to manage a complex academic organization. As an active listener, the Provost will demonstrate effective communication styles that engages the Franklin Pierce constituents and encourages open dialogue, consensus building and creating effective partnerships. An earned doctorate is required, with a demonstrated record of research/scholarship and college level teaching.
