MDS needs Respite Providers to fill
part-time positions in the New Ipswich, Rindge, Peterborough, and
Monadnock Developmental Services
(MDS) is seeking qualified applicants to fill part-time
opportunities with adults and children in Rindge, Jaffrey, New
Ipswich, and Peterborough. Respite providers are responsible for
supporting people of all ages who have a developmental disability.
These positions may require teaching daily living skills, helping
individuals develop and meet their goals, and supporting the person
in creating and developing relationships in their community.
Minimum qualifications include a
sound ethical foundation, dedication, creativity, commitment to
building a relationship, a sense of humor, and ability to work as
part of a caregiving team. Work hours are very flexible, and can
range from 5 hours to 30 hours a week!
We are looking for students that
can work during the summer months as well as the academic year.

Respite care is designed to help
families. Caretakers of children or adults with special needs often
face increased levels of stress as a result of balancing the needs
of their child or adult with special needs with the needs of
themselves and other family members. Respite Providers provide
support when a family’s natural supports are unavailable.
