Title: EVS Technician- Summer Department: Facilities

 EVS Technician


EVS Technicians will perform all cleaning duties necessary on the interior and exterior of all buildings designated by Franklin Pierce University. 


Building Assignments may include, but are not limited to: 

* Residence housing, Administrative, Academic, Recreational and Athletic buildings. 


Cleaning assignments may include, but are not limited to:

* General cleaning of bedrooms, offices, etc.

* Cleaning restrooms, re-stocking paper and soap supplies, emptying trash receptacles.

* Cleaning floors and carpets, use of scrubbing machines, vacuums and extractors.

* Insuring proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.

* Promoting continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.




Minimum Qualifications / Skills Required:

  • Strong work ethic, willingness to learn and a positive attitude.

  • Familiar with standard safety practices

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Must maintain a high level of integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion. 

  • Maintain acceptable work habits, punctuality and regularity of attendance to arrive and leave work on  time and observe established break times and lunch periods.

  • Ability to effectively communicate and follow oral instructions in English.  Ability to effectively read written instructions, signs and products in English.

  • Adhere to University protocol relating to safety procedures.

  • Adhere to the policies and procedures established by Franklin Pierce University.

  • Accept and render constructive criticism in a professional manner.

  • Carry out all responsibilities and objectives in a professional manner.

  • Other duties as assigned.


This position will require heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) and possible transportation of materials and equipment and involve working with biohazard substances. 


Skills, Abilities and Knowledge that might be gained in this position:

This position will help an individual to obtain knowledge and understanding of general cleaning practices and safety guidelines. This position will also develop skills such as teamwork, following directions, self-discipline and attention to detail.


Hours of Work:

15 - 30 hours per week. Hours available Monday through Friday. May be required to work some weekends, holidays and mandatory days. Shifts must be a minimum of 2 hours
