The Doctors PSA Challenge: Stage 1

The Doctors and Executive Producer Andrew Scher, Franklin Pierce class of ’88, challenge Franklin Pierce students to create an outstanding Public Service Announcement (PSA).
  • Winning Franklin Pierce PSA will be shown on The Doctors TV show.
  • Winning Franklin Pierce students will be flown to LA to appear on The Doctors.
  • Franklin Pierce students from all majors are invited to participate.

Main Details
  • 30-second PSA needs to be about health or safety (quit smoking, don’t text and drive, eat healthy, wear your seatbelt, don’t do drugs, etc.)
  • Students can write a script in pairs, or create production plan and storyboards in pairs.
  • If chosen, students will work in production teams of four for one week in January to create the PSAs.
    • Two co-writers will serve as:
      • one producer
      • one production assistant
    • Two co-creators of production plan/storyboard will serve as:
      • One camera person
      • One editor
  • Up to six teams will be invited to campus, up to 24 total students.
  • New deadlines: PSA scripts are due, printed, to the Fitzwater Office by 6 p.m.
    on Wednesday, Nov. 17
  • Monday, Nov. 22: Students who want to create the production plan / storyboards can pick up one of the scripts, from the Fitzwater Office.
  • Wednesday Dec. 1 before 6pm: Completed Production Plan/Storyboard to be turned into the Fitzwater Office.
