SPONSORED INSURANCE PROGRAMS
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
-
Employees are
required to submit their benefit paperwork to HR during their
new hire orientation.
-
An employee becomes eligible for benefits on the first (1st) of the
month following thirty (30) days of employment.
-
Once you become
eligible to receive benefits, you have 30 days before your
date of eligibility to submit your paperwork. If your
paperwork is not in the Human Resources office on time, you will
forfeit your benefit option until the next open enrollment
period.
-
Each year the
University conducts an
open enrollment period which allows you the opportunity to make
changes to your Health, Dental, and Medical and Dependent Care
Flexible Spending Accounts. This is also your opportunity to
enroll in any of the voluntary insurance programs we offer such
as vision and voluntary life.
State and Federal regulations require that you
submit a new 'enrollment form' each year, even if you wish to
keep your benefit elections EXACTLY the same. If you do not
complete the appropriate paperwork by the end of open
enrollment, your deduction will not continue into the next
calendar year.
-
IRS regulations stipulate that
current employees cannot elect to change or join Franklin Pierce
University’s health, dental, vision or flexible spending during the
calendar year, other than during an open enrollment period,
unless there is qualifying event, such as marriage,
birth/adoption of a child or loss of spouse’s coverage.
