Leaves of Absence Without Pay are intended
to protect the service of employees who develop a need to temporarily
leave active service, but plan to return to the University within a
specified amount of time, and do so in accordance with the Family
Medical Leave Act (FMLA). The University recognizes the importance of job
flexibility within the workplace to assist employees with balancing the
demands of work, family, and personal needs. The University wants to help
employees meet those competing responsibilities in a manner that
accommodates the legitimate interests of the University as well as the
concerns of the employee.
