 Short/Long Term Disability

Mutual of Omaha Short Term Disability (STD)

Short term disability (STD) is an unexpected injury or illness that keeps you out of work for a short period of time. Short Term Disability insurance can help replace lost wages and can be an important part of personal financial planning.

STD insurance can assist by replacing a portion of your income if you are unable to work due to a non-work related medical condition or injury. Plus it helps give you peace of mind while out of work and protects you from financial hardship.

This benefit is paid for by Franklin Pierce University. Benefits begins after 7 days of disability.

The following is how STD benefits are paid to employees:

All eligible Exempt and Non-exempt employees will be paid 100% of weekly earnings up-to a maximum of $2,500 per week for up to 25 weeks.

STD benefits are reduced by other income you receive (e.g., Social Security, state disability benefits, pension benefits and Workers’ Compensation).
